I went off to mysql.com after someone said to download their programme (I needed a DBMS). What exactly is it as I can't really tell? I tried to install in onto my computer but nothing much happened! Is it a different phpMyAdmin? I'm completely lost! Embarassed

You'll need to write a PHP/Perl script to connect to your MySQL server. phpMyAdmin is a PHP script which also connects to your database (MySQL) server.

You don't need MySQL on your computer unless you want to test your scripts offline.

If you do want to test scripts offline (like I do), the easiest way is to downlaod this:

http://www.firepages.com.au/devindex.htm

just unzip it in the correct directory.

Hi!

There are a lot of programs listed on that page. Which one were you referring to.

Thanks in advance for your reply.
