cPanel is an interface to manage a server. It has two components: cPanel (for customers to manage their sites), and WHM (Web Host Manager, for hosting companies to manage the accounts on their servers).
More information at http://www.cpanel.net/ (as well as a demo) |

You're running a web hosting company, yet you don't know what cPanel or a virtualhost are?? I suggest you reconsider...

I agree with Daniel, if you really don't know anything you'll have a very hard time being successful - of course, the fact that you're here asking questions is a good sign. If you're already hosting people, I would suggest that you learn quickly; if you're not hosting anyone yet, I think it would be a good idea for you to spend a while learning how everything works first. |

Setting up a website and maintaining a server are totally different, in fact where is your server, your home PC? |

Yes it is home hosted, BUT it is on a different machine
Maybe you could look into server co-location for a more secure location for your machine... |
