Mod_rewrite/.htaccess probs

Hi guys i have just installed a directory script to my site www.pixelcarads.co.uk/directory

it looks fine untill you try to click any links like the catagories and things.

this is what you get

Not Found

The requested URL /pi/xe/lc/pixelcarads.co.uk/public_html/directory/index.php was not found on this server.
webfusion.co.uk/httpd Server at www.pixelcarads.co.uk Port 80

i have contacted my host and they just told me i need to have .htaccess
file to turn on mod_rewrite now i do have .htaccess files the main one has this in

the others in the script just have (deny from all) in

so what is going wrong here am i missing something?

Please help i have spent over a week now trying to sort this
