Input file called by several functions

Hi,

I've got this problem ( probably simple ): I have a file that has all the inputs needed by the C main program. Meanwhile, this one has several routines/functions. How do I read ( sequentially ) the values in the different functions? For example, the first data in the file is for the first function to read, the second data is for function 3 to read, etc...

C doesn't let me call the file - it says it must be define. But if I reopen it, I'll input the wrong data because the input goes to the beginning of the file.
