Once again, this may be crazy, but is there a way to open an executable from a button in a browser without getting Microsoft's "warning" dialog box?

Turn your security settings down, other than that, no, its a security feature.

If there were something you could code into a web page to allow executables to be downloaded, boy would virus authors be happy campers. Laughing
