Funny you should mention the price of the DB. I just emailed them complaining about that and asking if they had any plans to lower it or at least have something in between.

I don't suppose they will reply, but I have only got another couple of months until my years hosting expires (which I pointed out in some feeble attempt to scare them Laughing ). I guess I will start looking for a new host very soon as I can't see them improving this. Which is a shame because since I got a 'paid for' account I have had no problems with them and as far as I know fairly good uptime - its always there whenever I visit.

Out of interest what would be an average price for 50mb of DB or should we say 45mb as the other 5 comes with the hosting package?

I would say up to 30 pounds, since transfer is "unlimited".

Which seems quite reasonable. But even better with the option to just upgrade to 20mb for about £15.

I too emailed chris a while back asking about db space price(i has previously phoned and they didnt seem to know what a db was...). He did reply that they would be ajusting thepr prices in a week or two...

Hang on I prob still have the email

Quote:

Hi Ben - the database price will be changing very soon and will be
cheaper - so if you can hang in there for a couple of weeks it would be
great.

Thanks

And that was dated 29 Jan 2002

I did wait two or three weeks and there was no sign of prices changing so I signed up with cyberwings and said goodbye to the 7 or so months I had left on my package with f2s....
