 How to stop a cron job in ASP

Hi All,
I am writing the application to stop the cron jobs from the ASP.At the moment what iam doing is renaming a file in ASP so when a cron runs it won't find the file to be run.I don't think so tht this is a good idea.
Can any one suggest something

Why not just remove the cron job?
