Here is my .htaccess file:

AuthName "Investor Site"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile C:/Documents and Settings/
Thad Bryson/workspace/InvestorSite/.htpasswd
Require valid-user

Nothing happens when I go to a file in the directory. It just gives me access. I've tried backslashes, forward slashes, %20 instead of spaces, I think I've tried everything. Nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong?

Should have browsed the forums a little more. I needed to change my apache configuration.

Fix:

change httpd.conf

AllowOverride None

to

AllowOverride All

Then restart the server.
