Now that F2S have introduced two new 'capped' packages, is there any plans to cap the 512k or 1m service ?

Nope, no plans at all to cap the 512K/1024K/2048K ADSL Services at all, the two capped packages are in addition to, rather than instead of the unlimited ones.
It's aimed at people who are light users to increase the takeup of ADSL and the continuing phase-out of Dialup but do not wish to pay the normal £22.50 per month.
