You haven't by any chance already signed up here before using the same email address?

There are no banned email address right now - so are you sure you don't already have an account here? I can check if you want Smile. (Email http://www.4webhelp.net/contact/?selected=forums for help - you might want to give me your email address Wink)

Hi folks,

No I haven't previously signed up. I'm wondering... on my 1st attempt to register, I entered all the details but missed the 'four letter code', so I had to go back. Could the board have gleaned my e-mail address from that and said no way on my subsequent attempts?.

Will shoot of a message to the link suggested.

Thanks for the help.

Hi there,

As I said in my email, this was down to a bug in phpBB's email address validation. It was basically not allowing the "-" sign in the part before the @ sign in the address.

I therefore reverted to the phpBB 2.0.4 release code for the relevant file (I was using CVS code before), and it worked fine. I then proceeded to the phpBB chat room, reported the bug, which was fixed then and there, and the changes are now in CVS. Talk about speedy! Very Happy
